  We have had the worst experience with this agency. In our particular case one of the agents behaved immorally and unethically in phoning us to congratulate us on our offer being accepted and arranging for us to pay a deposit. 2 days later she rang and said another offer had come in and did we want to negotiate. We obviously thought we had finished negotiating!!

  I recently attended an open house for a property for rent in Cockatoo. The actual open house went very well and the Real Estate Agent, Meaghan Dolphin was very friendly and helpful. We went home to fill out the application form and all the other necessary information, scanning of documents, etc that are required for a rental application. I then dropped the rental application off at Belgrave Office personally to be sure they received it. A few weeks later, after waiting for some kind of response, I noticed the listing had been removed from the website. I phoned the Belgrave office Rental Dept. to see if any decision had been made. Upon ringing, I found out that this property had been rented out and the Receptionist was sure that Donna had phoned all the people that had put in an application. Is this just their standard answer? What about all the effort that people take to fill out a rental application, the time , the research, going to look at various different rental properties? I think, it is just plain decency to at least give the unsuccessful applicants a simple phone call or an email to advise them. It only takes a few minutes to do this. Unfortunately, it would seem the communication within this business is pretty poor!

  Apparently behavior of this variety is not illegal but is widely acknowledged, including by the REIV to be unethical. Avoid their open homes at all costs!!!!!!
